Diving

 Information about diving destinations in Finland:

1. Päijänne National Park 

      

Lake Päijänne is the second largest lake in Finland, and in the middle of its open waters you can find a treasure; Päijänne National Park, which consists of small islets and bigger islands with steep rocks or sandy eskers.

Divers especially favour the islets and islands west of Haukkasalo. The special feature of the islands are the steep-sided cliff shores.

2. Ekenäs Archipelago National Park 

    

Ekenäs Archipelago National Park in the Gulf of Finland is a beautiful part of Nyland archipelago. The National Park is located in Western Nyland near the southern coast of Finland and it includes three out of the four archipelago zones: inner and outer archipelago, and the open sea. Almost 90% of the park consists of water areas.

The varied forms of the sea bed and the number of ship wrecks make the park an interesting destination for diving, almost round the year.

3. Archipelago National Park

     
Rugged rocky islets and forested islands, separated by open sea, are characteristic to the area. The nature trails guide you to the diversity of the natural features and the life of the archipelago.

There are also two under water trails on western side of Stora Hästö island. Situated on the shore of Stora Hästö Island. This special trail is intended for boaters, nature  school  students, archipelago ecotourism entrepreneurs and divers, as well  as others interested in underwater nature.

4. Melkuttimet 

  
Melkuttimet is Located in the Häme Lake Uplands. The area’s easy to travel ridge-side pine forests and lakes with exceptionally clear water by southern Finland's standards. There are good swimming spots along the shores of almost all the area’s lakes.

The area’s lakes have very clear water and thus it is an ideal place for diving.

5. Hossa Hiking Area 

     
Hossa Hiking Area has sparkling clear lakes and rivers, grand ridges and hills and versatile possibilities for hiking. The scenery encompasses signs left by the Ice Age and by human habitation.

The crystal clear lakes in the hiking area are ideal for diving. A divers’ service point can be found on the shore of Lake Öllöri.Lake Öllöri is nearly 40 metres deep and has very clear water. It was formed in a depression left by glaciers.On the shore of Lake Öllöri at Karhunkainalo Camping Ground there are dressing rooms, a diving equipment maintenance and drying point, an oxygen tank fill-up point (you must have your own compressor), a swimming pier and a toilet.

6. Folk Park of Saari
  
The Folk Park of Saari has been a well-known outdoor recreation area for decades. It is valuable for its nature as well as for its cultural history.The park is located on Kaukola Ridge on an isthmus between Lakes Pyhäjärvi and Kuivajärvi. The bodies of water from large lakes to small forest ponds bring their own charm to the area. Folk Park of Saari is Located in the Häme Lake Uplands.

The clear waters and deep shores of Lake Suujärvi have made it a popular diving destination.
